Challenge:

Three years ago we did a search for a Disaster Recovery and Backup Solution for our Data Centers. After an active Vendor and Product search we chose dvaDataStorage to provide our solutions and services. Our challenge was to move from a cumbersome Rotating Tape Backup system that was difficult to recover data from, for our 20 production data servers. We decided we wanted a newer technology with faster recovery of data for our Data Recovery system. We wanted a Disk to Disk Backup system with High Availability.

Solution:

We chose to purchase a disk2disk backup solution, installation services, and technical support from dvaDataStorage. We were able to get the reliability we wanted from a d2d system, and services to support the hardware and software we chose. We placed the primary backup solution in our main Data Center and the secondary vault in our offsite Data Center. We have a reliable data connection between the 2 Data Centers and have an excellent record of data transfer between the primary backup and vault.

Results:

The reliability of our Disaster Recovery system increased in my opinion by 100%. I spend significant less time managing the recovery of data, since I don't have to search through multitudes of stored Tapes. Our choice for disk2disk backup is managed through a Browser and backups and restores of data are a simple process now.
